![]() Without becoming attuned to an item that requires attunement, a creature gains only its nonmagical benefits, unless its description states otherwise. (If the class is a spellcasting class, a monster qualifies if it has spell slots and uses that class's spell list.) If the prerequisite is to be a spellcaster, a creature qualifies if it can cast at least one spell using its traits or features, not using a magic item or the like. If the prerequisite is a class, a creature must be a member of that class to attune to the item. This bond is called attunement, and certain items have a prerequisite for it. Some magic items require a creature to form a bond with them before their magical properties can be used. Potions are an exception a little taste is enough to tell the taster what the potion does. At the end of the rest, the character learns the item’s properties, as well as how to use them. Alternatively, a character can focus on one magic item during a short rest, while being in physical contact with the item. The identify spell is the fastest way to reveal an item’s properties. Handling a magic item is enough to give a character a sense that something is extraordinary about the item. Using a Magic ItemĪ magic item’s description explains how the item works. See the Dungeon Master’s Guide for many more items. This chapter presents an assortment of magic items that hints at the wider variety of magic items waiting to be found in the worlds of D&D. Phandelver and Below: The Shattered ObeliskĮvery adventure holds the promise - but not a guarantee - of finding one or more magic items. Or things like RangeFinder, Quickdraw, Snapshot Sights.Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse Rampage, Swashbuckler, KillClip, MultikillClip. ![]() Those that increase damage, like Rampage. Keep perks: Rampage + Explosive Head / Timed Payload. Keep perks: KillClip, Rampage, MultikillClip, Headseeker. (of course, nothing replaces learning about each perk and how they can interact)ġa) Keep Blues at highest current light level (950+) as infusion materials.ġb) Of course also keep Pinnacle weapons.Ģ) Short term quick-fix (for legendaries after the above advice): I have no idea which legendary perk combinations are good to keep and which are safe to dismantle. You are playing PvE and PvP and know you will eventually have all 3 characters, and that "ideal sets" depend on both character and game mode, so you need to keep various sets. You have many duplicate legendaries but they all have different perk combinations. You might have them in your vault and fear loosing them to ignorance. ![]() You are aware that there are "God Rolls" and even "good rolls" perk combinations that are rare and you want to be sure to not dismantle. And your collection of legendaries is creeping towards 500, the Vault limit. Your knowledge of what are good and bad perks is limited. You definitely want to keep your exotics and masterworked weapons. The above should carry you to 950+ even if you keep every legendary and exotic. Initially you might use some of those as you might be looking for something specific that you don't have yet. You can safely dismantle all blue weapons with light level 0-5 below your current (or all below 950 if you already reached it). ![]() I don't remember seeing a single blue over +55. You can safely dismantle any blue armor with stats below +55 unless it was selected by DIM as your best piece. You can safely dismantle all weapons and armor below blue. You can do this until you have about 300 items in the vault. Just use the Destiny Item Manager (DIM) web page or app to max equip the best gear you have and store the rest in the Vault. At the beginning you have no space issues. Here I summarize what I know, and ask for others to contribute for what I don't know. It would be great to have some simple rules or even some guides, but I have not found any. Even though there are many guides on great builds, there is virtually no information at all about what is worthless and safe to recycle for materials.Īnd of course your vault will only hold 500 items, which easily makes it one of the big problems for new players, as you don't want to shard a perfect roll weapon or armor piece that you do not have the knowledge to recognize yet.
